Meet The Team

Lanham and Company Personal Development Programme

Lanham and Company encourage and assist all staff to develop skills, experience and formal qualifications during their employment with the practice.

In return we expect staff to make a commitment to their own personal development.

Staff Induction

During the first day of employment all staff receive an induction with one of the directors, which includes an introduction to our policies and procedures, colleagues and our clients.

Training for professional qualifications

We are an ICAEW and ACCA approved training practice and also provide training and work experience leading to qualifications with the AAT.

We offer through our training contracts and the national apprenticeship scheme:

  • Financial support towards courses, exams fees and professional memberships
  • Time off for study and exams
  • Practical work experience to meet the criteria set by the relevant professional bodies
  • Audit experience including specialist industries such as charities and groups
  • One to one mentoring and support
  • 30 years of experience in putting staff successfully through this process

Other training

The continued development of non accounting staff is also important to us. This has included training towards qualification as a Chartered Company Secretary and a diploma in sales and marketing.

On the job training

We act for a varied range of clients and are therefore able to provide on the job experience that will cover all the requirements needed to gain professional qualifications.

We do not have separate “departments” such as taxation which has been traditional in other firms. This enables and encourages staff to gain practical experience and development in all areas of general practice.

Continuing Professional Development

The majority of our CPD is provided through external training courses  and the use of on-line CPD programmes. Training needs are assessed annually with staff and the relevant CPD arranged to ensure professional obligations and personal interests are met.

Internal training at group level and one-to-one is also provided.


All staff receive a quarterly appraisal with a director.
